  2. Coliseum Debate: With the vote for the proposed Nassau Coliseum project inching closer, the plan's and are stepping up their game. On Thursday night Town Councilman Ed Ambrosino addressed West Hempstead Rotary members and their guests to make his case for voting 'yes.' Get the story today.
  3. Weekend Plans: Sunny skies are in the forecast for this weekend and we found some great outdoor activities and other events your family will enjoy. So if you're staying close to home this weekend, check Patch this afternoon for our "Get Out" guide.
  4. Free Screenings: Have you been meaning to get your hearing checked but keep putting it off? Then head over to the West Hempstead Public Library today between 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. for a free screening by a licensed audiologist courtesy of Adelphi Outreach. No appointment is necessary. Testing is on a first come basis and results will be given immediately.
  5. Build a Totem Pole: Your kid won't feel like the low man on the totem pole when they are the ones constructing these ancient sculptures. The West Hempstead Public Library will entertain kids with a story about Alaska this evening and then invite them to partake in this unique craft. The event starts at 4 p.m.
