July 5: NAACP Fights For Faculty, Thrift Store and More

After the long holiday weekend it's time to get back to business.

1. Malverne School Board: The Malverne Board of Education meeting that was supposed to be tonight at 8 p.m. has been postponed until next Tuesday.
2. NAACP Presses School District: The Lakeview branch of the National Association for the Advance of Colored People is pressing leaders of the Malverne School District to reinstate faculty who have been recently cut. Learn more about what was discussed at their latest meeting .
3. Zumba: Indulged over the holiday weekend? Work it off while having fun at Zumba tonight at the West Hempstead Public Library. Jill Ackiron-Moses will teach two classes, one at 4:45 p.m. and 6 p.m. Contact the library to see if spots are available.
