June 16: Open Houses, Lynbrook Girls Get Lesson in Self Defense

Five things you need to know today in Lynbrook.

The following are five things you need to know today in Lynbrook and/or on Patch:

1 — Expect a relatively sunny Thursday, with a temperature near 80 degrees. Tonight, there is a possibility of scattered showers and thunderstorms. Temperature drops to about 63 degrees in the evening.

2 — Be on the lookout for Patch's weekly article highlighting open houses being held for the upcoming weekend. We'll list home features, as well as the dates and times of each showing.

3 — Earlier this week, Patch checked in with a group that teaches young girls lessons in self defense. We will have a video report on the group later today.

4 — In case you weren't able to make it down to the historical retrospective at the Lynbrook library last night, you'll have one more opportunity to see it tonight.
