Five things you need to know today in Lynbrook.

The following are five things you need to know today in Lynbrook and/or on Patch:

1 — Graduation has finally arrived for Lynbrook High School seniors. The commencement ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. at Marion Street School. However, if it rains, it will be in the high school gymnasium. Patch will provide updates via Facebook.

2 — Today, we'll be running a list of open houses being held in Lynbrook this weekend. Details include the type of home, asking price, and other interior features.

3 — After being defeated in the Republican primary last year, New Hyde Park resident Frank Scaturro this week announced his candidacy for U.S. Rep. Carolyn McCarthy's 4th Congressional District seat in 2011. Patch will have the story later today.

4 — If you're a regular reader of Lynbrook Patch, you've seen us post the weekly crime report. But now, each Friday we'll be reporting on crime happening in other areas around Lynbrook. The Lynbrook crime report will run on Mondays.

5 — Not sure what you're doing this weekend? Patch will feature a series of local events happening on Saturday and Sunday. Look out for that article later this afternoon.
