Lynbrook Girls Volleyball Win Streak Now at 12

The girls improved to 12-0 on the season after defeating Plainedge Thursday, 3-2.

The Lynbrook girls volleyball team is showing no signs of slowing down. The Owls improved to 12-0 on the year after defeating Plainedge in another nail-biter Thursday night, 3-2.

"From start to finish it was a fight for each team to win," said Owls head coach Vanessa Jeremenko. "Luckily we came out on top and were able to keep our undefeated streak going."

Nicole Milillo had 30 digs, three kills and four aces for the Owls. "Her defense is really what got us through the game," Jeremenko said.

Sydney Sullivan had five aces, eight digs and 13 kills, while Nicolette Franco added seven aces, seven digs and nine kills.

Jeremenko, in her , said the girls trailed in the last game by as much as nine points, but fought back and showed everyone why they are undefeated.

"We had a few low points, where we got down on ourselves and had to work harder to push through it," Jeremenko said. "But these girls continue to amaze me when it come to their perseverance and drive to finish when it really counts."

Four games are left on the schedule for the Owls. Their next game is at home on Wednesday, Oct. 19 against Calhoun, 4:30 p.m.
