March 1: Basketball Playoffs, 100 Things to Do in Lynbrook, and Patch Looking for Whiz Kids

Five things of interest happening in Lynbrook today.

The following are five things of interest happening in Lynbrook and/or on Patch today:

1 — For students in grades K-3, the Lynbrook Public Library will be holding "I Am Boss of My Body," a workshop teaching children that they have the right to say "no." Registration is required for this free program, which begins at 7 p.m. For more information, call the library at (516) 599-8630.

2 — Later today, Patch will be posting #96 in its "100 Things to Do in Lynbrook," a weekly feature highlighting all that the village has to offer.

3 — A Lynbrook woman has started a project to help raise money for children in orphanages around the world. To see how, stay tuned for the Patch story later today.

4 — The Lynbrook varsity girls basketball team (15-4 overall) will take on Division in the semifinals at 5 p.m. at Freeport High School. The Lady Owls are coming off a 69-68 win over North Shore, which was undefeated in its conference this season. Division is 18-1 overall this season.
