March 24: School Board Adopts District Budget — and Heads to Hofstra to Lobby For School Aid
Five things you need to know today in Lynbrook.
The following are five things you need to know today in Lynbrook and/or on Patch:
1 — A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 10 a.m. this morning after a night of freezing rain. Be careful on the roads, as some accumulation of ice is possible. The temperature is expected to reach 43 degrees during the day, but will drop to around 26 degrees at night, according to the National Weather Service.

3 — Lynbrook parents, educators, students and members of the community will join their counterparts from other Long Island school districts at Hofstra University tonight to call for Long Island's fair share of school aid and mandate relief. The rally begins at 6 p.m. at the university's Physical Fitness/Swim Center. A Lynbrook educator currently has a dozen seats available on a bus heading to the rally. 4 — The Lynbrook Board of Education adopted its 2011-12 district budget last night. In a Patch story we're posting later today, we'll tell you how much the district plans to spend over the next school year.
