  1. Men of Honor: Malverne is a neighborhood that takes pride in its vast number of volunteers and service men and woman. Last week, the village took the time to honor some of the individuals who play a vital role in protecting its residents at the 22nd Annual Law and Order Night. They also selected two local Boy Scouts for a special award and recognized residents who proudly display the American flag on their properties.   2. Bus Lines in Jeopardy: Bus service to Malverne and West Hempstead may take a hit if the Metropolitan Transportation Authority follows through with the proposed cuts it announced for Long Island Bus Wednesday. Get the full story on Patch later today.
  3. West Hempstead History Lesson: Travel back in time to learn more about your community through a special presentation tonight at the The West Hempstead Historical Society will present a photo tour into West Hempstead's history. for more information.
  4. Parents Meetings: If your child is enrolled in Maurice W. Downing School in Malverne, there will be a Parent-Teacher Association meeting tonight at 7 p.m. Just blocks away the Community Presbyterian Church will also be hosting a special event catering to moms and days. In conjuction with Little Blessings Christian Preschool,  the church is offering a series of parenting workshops with tonight's topic focusing on religion in the home.
