  1. Neighborhood Watch: The first meeting of the recently formed in West Hempstead will be held tonight. It will start at 7:30 p.m. at For more information email Terese Russo Santoro at trusso14@aol.com.
  2. School Report Cards: Recently the Malverne School District presented the results of its New York State Report Card, which indicates how the schools performed compared to others in the region this past year. West Hempstead's scores are also in. Get the full story later on Patch.
  3. School Board Meets: The West Hempstead Board of Education will convene for a special work session tonight that is open to the public. The meeting will be held at the central administration building on Chestnut Street starting at 8:15 p.m. (West Hempstead Middle School also performs its spring concert tonight at 7:30 p.m.)

Malverne Fights Cancer: On Friday, local residents gathered at the track at Malverne High School for the community's first Relay for Life and raised more than $18,000 for the American Cancer Society. Despite on-and-off rain, they walked throughout the night to honor those who have lost their lives to the disease and show their support for those still fighting. Check out the
