May 27: Memorial Day Preview, Village Crime Report

Five things you need to know today.

The following are five things you need to know today in Lynbrook and/or on Patch:

1 — Rain is in the forecast for Friday, but the temperature is expected to reach the low 80s. Thunderstorms possible.

2 — Just two more days until Lynbrook's Memorial Day festivities begin! Patriots Weekend kicks off on Sunday, complete with a fireworks show to conclude the day. On Monday, the village will hold its centennial anniversary and Memorial Day Parade, followed by a ceremony at the Doughboy Monument.

Later today, Patch will tell you exactly when and where all the different events will be held.

3 — The weekly village crime report, courtesy of the Lynbrook police, will be posted on Patch later today. See what incidents and/or crime have taken place in the village.

4 — Every Friday from 7-9:30 p.m., holds a Tween/Teen Skate for ages 10-14 only. Adults are only allowed into the building as chaperones. For more information, call Hot Skates at (516) 593-1300.
