The Academy Award-winning director has helmed such classics as "Casino," "Taxi Driver" and "Mean Streets."
He has been nominated for "best director" six times, winning for "The Departed" in 2006. He was also nominated for "Raging Bull," "The Last Temptation of Christ," "Goodfellas," "Gangs of New York" and "The Aviator."
