Costumed kids finds treats at school and around the neighborhood on Oct. 31.

Despite a rare October snowstorm over the weekend, kids in Malverne and West Hempstead enjoyed beautiful fall weather on Halloween Monday as they cavassed the neighborhood for treats.

Although many had to attend school first, there they also participated in Halloween festivities including parades and a special Halloween-themed maze.

The merchants along Hempstead Avenue in Malverne hung orange and black balloons outside their storefronts welcoming Trick-or-Treaters to come in for some candy.

Over in West Hempstead, the Student Council held an after-school party for kids inside the high school cafeteria with games, goodies and costumed characters.

And all throughout the two communities, heroes, villains, princesses and ghouls could be spotted going door to door on a mission to gather as many sweets as possible.
