UPDATE 9 a.m.: Some Lynbrook Residents Still in the Dark

727 Lynbrook residents are still without power after Irene.

Approximately 1,135 customers are still without power in Lynbrook as of 2:49 p.m. on Sunday, according to the Long Island Power Authority’s (LIPA) outage map.

A spokesperson for LIPA said that they would not have any additional information on the outages until the crews are able to get out into the field to assess the damages. LIPA serves 8,779 total customers in Lynbrook.

Update: As of Sunday at 8:35 p.m., LIPA is reporting that 2,241 customers in Lynbrook are currently without power. They are "assessing conditions," according to the outage map.

Update: As of 3 p.m. on Tuesday, 817 customers in Lynbrook are still reported by LIPA as having no power. The outage map says that "restoration is in progress."

Update: On Wednesday at 9 a.m. LIPA is reporting 727 customers in Lynbrook are still in the dark.
