Stolen Car Found at Capri Motor Inn, Brooklyn Woman Arrested

The car was located using the LOJACK recovery system.

A Brooklyn woman was arrested at the Capri Motor Inn in Lynbrook on May 13 after allegedly stealing a car earlier that day.

According to Lynbrook Police, around 5:30 a.m. on May 13, a complainant reported to the 103th Precinct of the New York Police Department that a female, who he had met early in the evening, had taken his car from his driveway.

The female, defendant Zipporah Williams, 23, removed the key fob for the complainant's vehicle when he fell asleep and took the car without the permission or knowledge of the complainant, police said.

The vehicle is equipped with the LOJACK recovery system, which was activated when the NYPD placed a stolen vehicle alarm on the 2008 Nissan, police said. The LOJACK signal was received and tracked to the Capri Motor Inn at which time the vehicle was placed under observation by the Lynbrook Police Department.

According to police, around 8 a.m., Williams exited a room at the motel then entered the vehicle and attempted to leave the motel when she was stopped by the Lynbrook Police Department and placed under arrest.

Williams was charged with criminal possession of stolen property.
