The man who in West Hempstead on Thursday was caught on surveillance tape and police are asking the public to help bring him into custody.
The Nassau County Police have released photos taken from the footage of the Feb. 24 robbery and are asking for the public's help in identifying the suspect.
According to cops, the man walked into the located at 611 Hempstead Turnpike around 1:25 p.m., one week from the day of and verbally demanded money from the teller.
After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, police say he fled east through the parking lot toward Hempstead Turnpike and Nassau Boulevard. There were seven employees and no customers present, but no one was injured.
Detectives describe the perpetrator as a white male with fair complexion, 30-32 years old, 5'11" to 6 feet tall, about 160 pounds with a thin build. He has dark hair, dark eyes and was wearing a red jacket with white stripes on the sleeves, blue jeans and a green bag around his neck at the time of the robbery.
