Monotypes, described simply, are printed paintings and drawings. They are painted on a plate, glass or sheet of plexiglass and transferred onto paper. It is the simplest form of printmaking, requiring only pigments, a surface on which to apply them, paper and some form of press, or in our case, a portable yet highly effective hand roller. We have soy based water soluble inks that are crazy fantastic and allow the artist to work slowly without worry of drying. This is a totally expressionistic experience that everyone will enjoy!
