West Hempstead will hold its Memorial Day Parade on May 30 this year. The parade will assemble at St. Thomas the Apostle Chapel on Hempstead Avenue at 9 a.m. and will kick off at 10 a.m.. It will head east on Hempstead Avenue to Roosevelt Boulevard and then turn left toward Echo Park. There, a ceremony honoring all veterans who have made the supreme sacrifice for our country will be held. It will include guest speakers and the placing of the memorial wreaths.
Several community groups including the volunteer firefighters will be participating. The parade is expected to attract over 300 people. Will you be there?
