FIRST EVER SOLAR INDUSTRY SURVEY GIVES WOMEN HOMEOWNERS AND MOMS OPPORTUNITY TO VOICE THEIR SOLAR MARKETING PREFERENCES

Solar Industry Women, Mom Bloggers, and Female Brand Enthusiasts Join
Together to Promote “Shining a Solar Marketing Light on Women”

NEW YORK & LOS ANGELES, Wednesday, October 9, 2013 – A cadre of solar industry professionals, prominent mom bloggers, and leading brand marketers today announced “Shining a Solar Marketing Light on Women,” a first ever survey reaching out to American women homeowners and moms to understand their communication preferences related to solar.  With a combined reach of nearly 15,000 bloggers, the mom- and women-oriented networks of Bookieboo.com and TheBloggerConnection.com have joined forces with the solar industry’s popular #SolarChat community and solar industry marketing professional, Glenna Wiseman, to get the survey out to as many women in America as possible.

The results of the survey will be introduced at the solar industry’s preeminent event, Solar Power International, by Raina Russo, founder of #SolarChat, and Wiseman at a presentation of the same name on Tuesday, October 22, 2013, in Chicago, CA. The findings will also be discussed at a future #SolarChat online event to be held on November 13, 2013, from 2-3 p.m. PST. Panelists will include Russo, Wiseman, and representatives from The Blogger Connection and Bookieboo.com.

Russo, a solar professional, solar homeowner, and mother of two, says, “Women across America overwhelmingly guide the purchasing decisions in the average household. They also carry with them an intuitive nature to create a better future for their children. Understanding these two significant attributes can assist the solar industry in communicating and connecting with such an important consumer base, one that has the potential to increase the adoption of solar nationwide.”

“As the solar message moves out to wider audiences in America, we are excited to give women a voice to help the industry understand their communication preferences,” adds Wiseman, founder of Identity3, six-year solar industry marketer and author of “What Women Really Want from a Solar Sale,” a recent Solar Power World article featuring noted marketing to women authority, Marti Barletta.

“I'm very excited to be a part of this project because solar energy is not just important to me but should be important to everyone," says Rachel Ferrucci, owner of The Blogger Connection. "A clean, renewable fuel source will improve our lives but more importantly, our children's lives.”

“We work with some of the best mom-oriented brands and bloggers in social media,” explains Leah Segedie, founder of Bookieboo, LLC, and owner of a solar power system on her residence in Simi Valley, Calif. “Clean energy and lower utility bills are important priorities for the health and wellness of our digital mom communities. We are excited to be part of this effort to give women a voice in how they want to have solar marketed to them.”

The Shining a Solar Marketing Light on Women survey will be open from today, Wednesday, October 9th through Wednesday, October 16th.
