Lynbrook Woman Holding Fundraiser for Children of Bellmore Tragedy

The event will take place until June 22.

Renee Fischetto of Lynbrook will hold an online fundraiser in support of .

The four Hayes children returned to their North Bellmore home after school on May 1 to find their mother dead on the floor of the laundry room and their father locked in an upstairs bedroom.

Thomas Hayes, 43, stabbed his wife, Sherrelle Hayes, 44, and then hung himself, police said.

"I know friends of the family and I wanted to help out," Fischetto said.

Fischetto will sell jewelry from her online jewelry business, Lia Sophia, and will donate some of the proceeds to the children.

To participate, go to Fischetto's website, click on "Browse Our Jewelry" and put in "Hayes Family Fund" as the hostess name. If parties are booked through the fundraiser, Fischetto will donate 10 percent of those sales also.

The online fundraiser will take place until June 22.
