Sound Off: Where are the Worst Potholes in Lynbrook?

It’s roadwork season, so let’s identify the streets that need repair.

It may have been a mild winter, but the roads around Lynbrook and East Rockaway still need fixing.

Patch is on a quest to uncover the roadways and intersections with the worst potholes. So sound off in the comments section and sound the alarm. Your car – and that minivan full of kids on the way to little league practice – will thank you.

There were 115 potholes reported to the Town of Hempstead Highway Department in early 2011, compared with 127 in 2010. However from Jan. 1 through the end of March this year, there have been 336 pothole inquiries.

"Please note that we count inquiries, not potholes -- there may be more than one pothole at a given location," a highway department representative stated.

Potholes should be reported directly to the Highway Department at (516) 489-5000 or e-mailed to pothole@tohmail.org. Residents should provide the exact street address and the nearest cross street.

Potholes on major county roads around Lynbrook, such as Merrick Road, can be reported to the Nassau County Department of Public Works. To do so, either call (516) 571-6900 or send a specific location to pothole_emergencies@nassaucountyny.gov.

What streets need repair in Lynbrook? Whoa, where to begin... HAHA. Doesn't matter anyway, since nothing will happen, as usual.

I bought my home in 1985 and my street has never been fixed If I knew that living in an Inc. Village was like this I would have looked elsewhere!
