Malverne Students Donate Food for Thanksgiving

Students and teachers donated food items to create baskets to benefit local families.

Story by Danielle Lambert, Syntax

Members of the Maurice W. Downing Primary School Student Council in the Malverne School District recently sponsored a food drive to benefit local families for the holiday.

Students and teachers were asked to donate seasonal food items in order to create baskets that would enable families to truly celebrate a happy Thanksgiving. In addition to the donated food, each family received a gift certificate to a local food store in order to purchase a turkey.
