Our Lady of Peace Hosts 5th Annual Bagel Breakfast With Santa

Our Lady of Peace School in Lynbrook recently kicked off the holiday season with their 5th Annual Bagel Breakfast with Santa.

A total of 545 people had reservations between two seatings, a crowd which includes school and parish families. The event was run by parents Julie O'Connell and Kerrie Habert, along with many parents and seventh and eighth grade volunteers.

The event couldn't have been possible without the support of Lynbrook Bagels, who graciously donates bagels every year.

Joseph Lavignani of NYC Digital Imaging is a parishioner who donated his time to offer professional pictures of each family going up to see Santa.

"We are grateful that Joseph volunteered to be with us for both seatings to offer this service to our families," O'Connell said.

While waiting to go up and see Santa, O'Connell said that the children were able to visit craft tables where they could decorate an ornament and visit the cupcake decorating station, where they could decorate a cupcake with icing, candies and sprinkles.

"There was also a 'Giving Tree' set up with ornaments from Sr. Barbara and the
Parish Social Ministry office, where people are asked to purchase gift cards for those in our community in need in an effort to make their Christmas brighter," O'Connell said.

Our Lady of Peace School is affiliated with Our Lady of Peace Roman Catholic Church. The school is located at 21 Fowler Ave. in Lynbrook.
