Long Island Getting Its Own 'Jersey Shore'?

Long Island could be getting it's own reality series, a la "Jersey Shore."

Long Island may not have the Jersey Shore, but it certainly has the Hamptons, tanning beds, a very distinct accent and its fair share of drunken fools. And now it could also have its own reality show.

"Growing Up Gold Coast" is the newest project of Lilly and Sophie Enterprises, a production company run by Long Island native Chris Dunn.

The series, which is dubbed "Long Island Life" on Facebook, held auditions for the reality series in April at 841 Lounge in Huntington Station.

"Growing Up Gold Coast" will center around eight to 12 Long Island, 20-something natives in their every day lives, but unlike the "Jersey Shore," the cast of "Gold Coast" will be career-oriented with real jobs (not at a local T-shirt shop).

"One cast member might work at a car dealership, one at a high-end fashion company, and another might work at an up-and-coming computer company," according to the series' Facebook page, which already has 824 fans. "They could even be actors, entrepreneurs, musicians, or business owners. They will all be highly ambitious individuals who are set on climbing the ranks of their professions."

The cast, while closely intertwined, won't live in the same house, which means if any of them end up dating there won't be any Ronnie/Sammi brawls involving furniture being thrown off balconies.

The Facebook page for the series announced on May 12 that once the cast signed their contracts they were ready to start filming. There's been no word if the series has actually been picked up by a network.

While the producers of "Gold Coast" claim that the cast of Long Islanders will have big dreams other than GTL and finding grenades, based upon some of the audition tapes, it doesn't look like they have found the cream of the crop.

Some of the possible cast members include:

Holly,23, Lake Grove, and Samantha, 21, Ronkonkoma: The former lesbian couple, who are now bffs, auditioned while attached in handcuffs.

The girls are self-proclaimed "vulgar vixens."

"We tell people we are sisters and then make out," Samantha said during the audition, and then proceeded to tongue Holly on camera.

Holly graduated from Stony Brook University with a bachelor's in psychology. She is currently applying to Adelphi University for her master's. Her goal is to one day open her own "social work practice."

But by night Holly is a "beer girl," going around to bars in Suffolk County and doling out booze.

Samantha had a brief stint at Farmingdale University before dropping out to attend cosmetology school. She now works as an office manager at a chiropractor's office.

"We drink anything, but tequila makes us blackout," Samantha warned.

Sean, 22, East Northport:

Sean, who graduated from the University of Albany, describes himself as an athlete and someone who "likes to have a good time."

He worked in telemarketing and is now a salesman, but his true talent is having the "best 'Dougie' around."

Richard, 23, New Hyde Park:

"I don't really have many talents. I am a partier; I can fist pump like a champ," Rich said when the casting panel asked if he has any special talents.

Despite his love for partying, Rich says he "busts his ass" working at a private sanitation company with his father.

Dana, 23, Huntington: a bar tender, who describes herself as flirtatious, spontaneous and the center of attention, Dana is single because as she says, she is so spontaneous she "can't keep a boyfriend."

Her role model is Joan Rivers, because she always says what's on her mind. "That kind of resembles me in a way," Dana said during her audition. "I never care what people are thinking; I never care who's watching."

"If you want high ratings, put me on the show."
