Welcome to My New York

John Friia - a Malverne resident and Baruch College student - shares his New York experiences as he travels to the city to learn and explore all the great things Manhattan has to offer.

When I made the decision to go to Baruch College I thought I was just going to get a good education for an affordable price, since it is part of the CUNY system.

However, I realized that I have experienced and witnessed things that I would have never seen if I did not go to school in the city.

Seeing TV shows filmed, press conferences with Mayor Bloomberg and bumping into celebrities have been things that I have gotten used to in the past year since starting at Baruch.

I want to share my experiences with all of you. Everyday (in between classes) I explore New York and find something new.

So welcome to "My New York."
