'RepairRestoreRenew' the South Shore of Long Island

RepairRestoreRenew the South Shore of Long Island ~ Personal Relief for Families Affected by Hurricane Sandy ~ e-mail us at repairrestorerenew@hotmail.com.

To help those suffering from the effects of Hurricane Sandy, a Facebook group called RepairRestoreRenew the South Shore of Long Island has been established to collect funds for direct financial assistance to local families.

We are Malverne residents who care about our neighbors, their families and their coworkers - and want to help!

We’ll accept cash, checks or gift cards for any amount you can spare: $5, 10, 20 or more…no amount is too small!

If you want to mail your donation in, the address is PO Box 410, Malverne, NY 11565-0410. Please make your check payable to: Tom Grech.

We also will accept Paypal if you want to contribute in a safe and secure way with a credit card (Paypal account not required). The credit card transaction will appear on your bill as "REPAIRRESTO".

Our desire is to have the people along the South Shore of Long Island (including Brooklyn and Queens) who were affected by Hurricane Sandy get some spending money fast.

As of 11/12/12, we have already personally delivered funds to 4 families in the area hit hard by this storm - while they await insurance, FEMA and banks/atm's to get power!

We are in the process of getting funds to what we hope could be at least 8 more families!

What matters most is getting funds to the people who need it - and getting it to them fast!

Questions, concerns, or to donate, email us at repairrestorerenew@hotmail.com

people see the outside of her home and don't realize all our walls and floors are total gutted out we had cedar wood floors that were covered by carpet cause of allergies not only carpets had to be remove but all the hardwood floors had to be ripped out cause the water in the home and the black mold rising up all our walls. just yesterday my bedroom and sister's bedroom ceiling came crushing down..... lost piano my grandfather bought me over years ago so proudly wnet I was nine... all family furniture gone from generations not a piece of furniture to sit on or beds to sleep in... My mom's favorite plush recliner my sister and I just bought mom last year gone and it was her comfort place not only lost her sight in right eye to complications of a torn retina and not one procedure saved the sight in that eye but she has very bad osteo. in her back that is crushing her forward she'd have dinner sitting in it etc her one place she was not in so much pain sitting... Sister a survivor of domestic violence then a widow raising her 7 year old daughter with mom's help financially etc it would be great to get her some assistance to paying contractor for all the work it is taking to hopefully oneday have a place to call home again and stop mom from crying and wondering how she is gonna pay for this all......I would send pic to you if you don't believe me the disaster we are in the middle of... and thanksgiving and xmas just around the corner.. I need my mother to smile again...

OK wait people. This person is asking for help and you want to SELL her stuff. AUDREY GO TO FEMA NOW with your mother, bring her SS#, her income (last taxes filed) - with pictures and list of all damages- they will assist you. To all who are looking to donate goods and funds. PLease be very CAREFUL WHO you donate to . VERIFY VERIFY VERIFY, this is in no way casting doubt ont his particular group but there are MANY who are claiming fund raising efforts which are questionable. Just investigate before you donate especially MONEY. Again no disresepct to the group here. just be careful people.

Lorraine-If you've tried the FEMA route, you would know that the process is laborious and the funds received are minor. RepairRestoreRenew was put together over a Saturday night to help those in extreme need. Nothing fancy, no overhead, no admin; just 4 people trying to put some cash in the hands of folks who needed it. To date, we raised just over $10,000 from as far away as Florida and Japan with contributions starting at $10 & up and we've distributed over $8,000. If you want to contribute yourself or know someone in need; email us at repairrestorerenew@hotmail.com ---Tom Grech

Hi there! I know this is somewhat off topic but I was wondering which blog platform are you using for this website? I'm getting fed up of Wordpress because I've had issues with hackers and I'm looking at alternatives for another platform. I would be fantastic if you could point me in the direction of a good platform http://jualeigeronline.blogspot.com/ and http://jualrumahgayungsari.blogspot.com/ ,http://tempatbelilaptop.blogspot.com/2013/02/jual-asus-s400ca-ca059h-touchscreen.html/ may be usefull
