School's Closed But Camp is Open!

With 2 working parents, school holidays can be difficult to plan for your children. One solution is Holiday Camp, an affordable & supervised camp experience that's open when school is closed.

In a world where many households have two full time working parents, school holidays can be difficult to plan for your children. If you do not have any additional vacation days, what are your options?

A full day babysitter can be very costly and not very stimulating for your children.  Additionally, if you take off work, you may end up spending even more money on entertainment for the day (for example- tickets to the movies or lunch at Dave & Buster’s).

As a result of the limited options for Long Island parents, many children’s organizations now offer affordable and reliable programs that run during school holidays. I sat down with Heath Levine, program director for Holiday Camp at , to learn more about this unique option for childcare during the holidays.

What are the benefits of enrolling children in Holiday Camp?

HL: Holiday Camp provides parents with a safe, supervised and fun location for children when school is closed for holiday breaks. Rather than sit home alone, children have the opportunity to make new friends, play camp games and build self-confidence.  Ultimately, our camp professionals help children translate the life skills learned at summer camp into productive vacation days!
