The Mommy's Guide: This Weekend's Top Picks!

Hello Everyone! I hope your week was great! If it wasn't so great, I promise you your weekend will be. I have my top three picks for the weekend for you guys. Are you ready? Okay, here we go:  

No. 1 on my list is the Hance Family fun day in Floral Park. It will have blow ups, face painting and balloon animals, but what I am really interested in seeing is the dress up dollhouse. I am under the impression that there will be an oversized dollhouse. I could be wrong, but I could be right, and that would be awesome!

Here is the information: Hance Family Fun Day on May 19, from 1-6 p.m. Old fashioned Family Fun Day in the Centennial Gardens and Bird Sanctuary. Dress up, play in a doll house and have your picture taken. Rain date is May 20 from 1-6 p.m. Where: Centennial Gardens of Floral Park; 251 Floral Park Parkway, Floral Park. Fee: $5

My second choice is on Sunday and it is the East Rockaway Street Fair. Nothing beats a good street fair. I remember my son only being a couple of months old, maybe even weeks old, and my husband and I  looking on the Internet for ANY street fair or festival available. It was just the best way to get out of the house!

Now that my son is older he loves walking on the streets and seeing all the people, and I love a deal, so it's a win-win.

Here is the information for this one: East Rockaway Street Fair; When: 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. Where: Atlantic Avenue to Front Street, Atlantic Avenue and Main Street, East Rockaway. Cost: Free

My third pick for this weekend is the Annual Car Show at the Rock Hall Museum, which is also on Sunday. Who doesn't like an old, new or funky car? We will be there, hope you will too. Here is the information:

Annual Fun Car Show: All makes of vehicles welcome including antiques, classics, customs, rods, trucks and motorcycles. $10 pre-registration fee per car. $15 fee on day of the show. You may not know, but this Saturday is World Turtle Day! There are two places that I know of that are actually doing something for this special event. One is at Quogue Wildlife Refuge, which is about 45 minutes away. The other is in Cold Spring Harbor. If you are interested check our site out for details: www.themommysguide.com
