Gloria Kaye, a 46-Year Resident of Malverne

Kaye was actively involved in Malverne, serving at the library and as President of the Parent Teachers' Association; service to be held on October 27.


Gloria Kaye, a 46-year resident of Malverne and native of Brooklyn, NY, died on October 8 in Delray Beach, Florida, where she had lived since retiring in 2002.

During her years in Malverne, Mrs. Kaye was an actively involved citizen, including serving stints as President of the Friends of the Malverne Public Library and President of the Parent Teachers' Association at Lindner Place School (now, Maurice Downing School).

 Mrs. Kaye worked for many years at Beacon Photo in Rockville Centre, and with the New York State Department of Labor in Hempstead and Hicksville. She and her family were long-time members of Temple Emanu-El of Lynbrook (now Temple Am Echad).

She was pre-deceased by her husband, Ira Kaye, and is survived by her children, James and Jack (Dawn), and grandchildren Rebecca, Hannah, and Allison Kaye, Joshua Kaye, and Michelle Juster Kaye.

A memorial service will be held on October 27 in Alexandria, VA. Donations in her memory may be made to the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens in Delray Beach, FL.
