As far as the Malverne School Budget passing, I think 3 Superintendents making 6 figure salaries for a district that only has 4 buildings is a little unnecessary. If 1 Superintendent can't handle the job then they must be a total incompetent. How about firing all of the Superintendents and get one person who is competent to do the job that 3 do now. As far as the Board member election I think that the 2 people who won should actually be disqualified for standing outside the polling place and campaigning for themselves. The other people running played it fair and stayed away from the polling place. I think there should be a new election and those 2 who didn't follow the rules and basically cheated should not be allowed to run again. These 2 people are going to know what's best for the children of Malverne School District when they can't even follow the rules? Good example for the kids, let the 2 people who cheated win, Niiiice!

@CG It's my understanding that the candidates were atleast 100 feet away from the polling place as required by NYS law. Since I also reported on West Hempstead,I can tell you that 5 of the 6 candidates over there were also campaigning near the polls, also outside the 100-foot radius, so it is permitted and not something that was unique to the Malverne election.

I only saw 2, the ones who won, and one was standing by the front door handing out flyers promoting himself. That may be 100 feet from the voting machine but hardly 100 feet from the polling place. The other one had to be asked to leave the gym several times because I told the woman that was checking me in that she was outside and she told me that. She said "well at least she's not in the gym again, we had to kick her out 3 times already". I've been voting for 14 years in the Malverne School elections and have never seen this before.

@Tara and @CG someone needs to further investigate into these allegations. This is a serious violation and if true those two candidates need to be disqualified.

Hey Tara, you rub it in. I take it very, very personally:) Mostly, I am disappointed by the low voters attendance. With so many horses on the turf, I would expect a higher one. Yawn, going back to sleep.

I told the people running the election when I went in to vote.

What's disappointing is that people would stoop so low as to anonymously make false accusations just because they don't like the results of the election. If "CG" and "Concerned Resident" really want an investigation, I suggest they come forward with their real names and identify what poll worker would tell them a complete lie about a candidate being kicked out of the gym three times. And while they are at it, perhaps CG could educate himself/herself about the district they've been voting in for 14 years. Malverne does not have three Superintendents. It has one Superintendent, a Deputy Superintendent who handles all matters concerning curriculum and an Assistant Superintendent that manages the physical facilities. The US doesn't have two Presidents either just because the word "President" appears in Joe Biden's job title. Now can we stop with the silliness and discuss real issues? Administrative costs are a legitimate issue but let's discuss it seriously without the "three superintendents" spin.

Many people went to Facebook with comments about people promoting themselves outside the school. If there was foul play maybe it should be looked into. I myself did not see this I was there at 7:30am, I believe this all happened at night.

Hey look, I know none of these candidates personally and hold no grudges against any of them, I was actually going to vote for one of the candidates I saw standing outside until I saw what they were doing and realized they were cheaters, If you want to get nit-picky about the Superintendent, of course there are assistants, DUHHHH. But are they needed? Why can't they have a head Maintenance guy making $60,000 instead of a building Superintendent? As far as the Asst. Superintendent, if the head guy can't handle 4 buildings on his own he's incompetent. Shouldn't the Head Supt. just have meetings with the Principals? How often do these guys visit the schools? For their salaries and being there is 3 of them, one of them should be dropping by one school per day., at least. It would be interesting to know how often these over-payed clowns step foot in the actual schools.

If you follow the Malverne school district news on a regular basis you are aware that the board of education has recently become an agenda of its own, not leaving much room for any other business. Its conduct has been divisive, obscure, and poisonous. The current school board is a burden and embarrassment to the school district residents.
