If You Could Ask the Presidential Candidates One Question, What Would it Be?

Patch wants to hear from our readers.

Tuesday night's presidential debate at Hofstra University differs from the others in that it delineates a more limited role for the debate moderator.

Questions aimed at President Barack Obama and Gov. Mitt Romney will be driven by audience members.

Patch wants to know if you had the opportunity to ask the candidates one question - what would it be?

The town-hall debate is planned for Oct. 16 at 9 p.m. at Hofstra University in Hempstead.

I would ask President Obama, "Why are you working against our country and not for our country?"

I would ask President Obama why did you name a big-time lobbyist and attorney for Monsanto as your food czar, allowing his industry to poison our crops and food supply with GMO toxins and not label their products as such, in stark contrast to your 2008 campaign assertion that we have a right to know what's in our foods and your pledge to have all GMO products labeled?

Very good point.

Each candidate should be asked: If elected, when it comes to foreign policy and the war on terror, where would the buck stop? With you, or with a member of your cabinet?

President Obama.......What have you been doing the last 4 years?!

Obamacare will wreck the availability of care as well as the quality of our medical care, speaking as a physician in practice for many years. Romney must tell that he recognizes the system needs fixing, and give some specifics as to what he will do in place of it when he repeals it. There are many voters in favor of some of the goodies up front. Etta

Q? Why can't Nassau County fix the assessment system and get rid of "clergy" exemptions? I would ask County elected officials but they have no clue . Maybe two guys with no knowledge of it have a clue.

I would ask about gun control. This question wasn't asked at all during the two previous debates.
Rhonda October 16, 2012 at 03:38 PM
Are you for even more gun control?

I would ask Romney to be honest about what he intends to do regarding legislating what women do with their bodies. I would ask Romney about selecting a running mate who voted to slash the security budget for our embassies and then turned around and blamed President Obama. I would ask Romney why, when Bush was president, everyone rallied around our country after it was attacked, but the same respect was not given to this administration when our embassy was attacked. I would ask Romney why he favors giving more tax breaks to the wealthiest of Americans, who pay proportionately less taxes than I do (making less than $100,000 a year). I would ask Romney how he intends to slash the deficit when the three Republican administrations before him could not do it. Gun control would also be a great topic for both candidates.

I would ask President Obama why he keeps taking credit for killing Osama Bin Laden when in fact "he didn't do that". This was inevitable given the many years of searching and planning by our brave, gifted and talented military. What else have you got President liar? You've got 4 dead Americans and more lies. Disgusting.
