Lynbrook West End Safety Week

West End Elementary's Safety Week is off to a great start.  Yesterday's Walk to School Day was enjoyed by all as Clark Street, the main entrance to the school, was closed to traffic allowing students to walk safely to school.  Today, first and second graders will learn about fire safety and first aid from Lynbrook Fire Dept. and EMTs from North Shore LIJ-CEMS.  And fifth graders will receive basic aid training from the American Red Cross.
The rest of the week will include activities across all grades focusing on traffic & Halloween safety given children will be doing a lot of walking during the upcoming holiday.  Also, student's will learn allergy awareness and how to be in charge of their bodies.  Parents are also included with a viewing of An Emerging Epidemic - Food Allergies in America
All activities were coordinated by PTA VP's Maria Fasano and Patti Kiefer.
