Question of the Day: Minor League Ballpark in Nassau?

Would you be a fan?

Local officials are working on bringing minor league baseball to Nassau County.

In addition to building a new sports arena at the site of the current Nassau Coliseum, County representatives also hope to develop a minor league baseball stadium similiar to the one in Suffolk, where the Long Island Ducks play.

In today's Question of the Day, we want to hear your thoughts on this plan.

Do you think a minor league ballpark would do well in Nassau County? Would you purchase tickets to see the games?

Leave your responses in the comments section below.

I vote YES for a minor league baseball field!!! What fun it would be to drive over at the last minute and watch a game, without having to drive an hour!!! Who wouldn't go see a game there?

I agree, vote YES. Bring back the good old days, when a family can easily go out together to enjoy a great american pastime whithout saving for weeks. It could be a last-minute decision to go to a local ball field at an affordable price. It would be a good thing for everyone. It would probably also bring down the growing number of teen crimes because there isn't much they can afford to do, especially in this bad economy. Many would benefit, since it would also promote jobs helping many along with the local economy.

That’s very nice that school districts that have the highest school taxes and costs, areRead More receiving additional money. The problem is that our state is in dire financial trouble and we can’t afford it. Upstate NY is a distressed disaster. How much more taxes are we going to pay?. Hear those feet marching out of state. Try fighting for drilling so we have jobs and revenue.

.......there they go again whitewashing a dilemma they don't want to touch......unconscionableRead More salaries and pensions paid by the taxpayer for incompetence? Not to mention 13 week vacations as well as numerous 1/2 days and weather shortened days. A $50000 band aid we end up paying indirectly anyway only increases taxes further down the road. They are either that stupid or they think we are!
