A two-crash at a troublesome intersection in West Hempstead injured at least four people Thursday afternoon, including two small children.
West Hempstead volunteer firefighters along with Nassau County Police and EMS personnel responded to the scene, located where Hempstead Turnpike and Brooklyn Avenue meet, to assist the injured.
This uncontrolled intersection, which is located just one block from , has been the site of numerous motor vehicle accidents in the past few months. Most recently, occurred at this same spot in mid-April, when one car allegedly sped up to beat the light. That accident sent five people to the hospital.
