Arrests, Larceny and Criminal Mischief

The latest crimes and incidents reported by the Lynbrook Police Department.

Arrests

  • On Sept. 1 at 4:17 p.m., Corey Jessup, of Forest Avenue in Lynbrook, was arrested and charged with petit larceny for allegedly stealing 10 pairs of jeans and three shirts from Casey's Clothing on Atlantic Avenue in Lynbrook.
  • On Sept. 2 at 2:45 a.m., Alex F. Baez, of Earle Avenue in Lynbrook, was arrested and charged with Attempted Sale of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree, Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree, and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana at a rear yard on Ocean Avenue in Lynbrook. Baez was found to be in possession of oxycodone tablets and marijuana, police said.
  • On Sept. 2 at 11 p.m., David C. Hinter, of Harrison Avenue in Lynbrook, was arrested on an outstanding Lynbrook village warrant, the result of a village building department violation.
  • On Sept. 3 at 4:42 p.m., Timothy G. Daube, of Old Commack Road in Kings Park, was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a hypodermic needle. Police said they found Daube and a friend sleeping in a car parked on Merrick Road in Lynbrook.
  • On Sept. 6 at 5:17 a.m., Dario G. Judunath, of Fairtown Road in Bayshore, was arrested and charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Vehicle in the 2nd degree on Sunrise Highway in Lynbrook.
  • On Sept. 10 at 8:35 p.m., Rotger Ria, 25, of South Ozone Park, was arrested and charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol.
  • On Sept. 12 at 10:30 a.m., Raymond Heany, 82, of Long Beach, was arrested for leaving the scene of an accident at Ocean Avenue in Lynbrook on Sept. 11. Police said there had been an injury to someone in the other vehicle.

Petit Larceny, Larceny

  • On Sept. 3 at 7:59 p.m., a boys black BMX bicycle was stolen from the front porch of a Rolling Street home. Police reported $2 in change was stolen from an unlocked vehicle near the home.
  • On Sept. 7 at 2 a.m., three purses were reported stolen on Freer Street. The value was estimated at $384.
  • On Sept. 8 at 11:33 a.m., police reported $451.39 being stolen from a register at CVS Pharmacy on Merrick Road in Lynbrook.
  • On Sept. 12 at 10 p.m., $49 worth of gasoline was reported stolen on Merrick Road in Lynbrook.

  • On Sept. 9 at 10:14 a.m., unknown persons cashed $9,522 worth of forged checks on Whitehall Street in Lynbrook.

Criminal Mischief

  • On Sept. 9 at 4 p.m., police reported a front door mat being set on fire at a home on Sherman Street in Lynbrook. Some damage was reported.
  • On Sept. 10 at 3:05 p.m., it was reported that unknown persons attempted to use a victim's identity on Leaman Place in Lynbrook to charge $6315.29 worth of services.
  • On Sept. 9 at 4 a.m., unknown persons broke a front picture window on Horton Avenue. The window is valued at $500.
