Two Five Towns teens face robbery charges after they allegedly took another teen’s cell phone and stole from a friend’s house, according to Nassau County Police.
A 17-year-old male was standing in front of his house on Church Street in Inwood when he was approached by Oskar Puk, 16, of Inwood, and Joshua Mackay-Smith, 16, of Hewlett, cops said. The two then demanded the victim hand over cash and his cell phone, police said. Mackay-Smith grabbed the victim’s cell phone and the two fled the scene, detectives reported.
The victim called the police immediately and gave a description of the two. Mackay-Smith was found shortly after on Stanley Street and was arrested, cops said. Puk was found shortly after on Stanley Street and arrested, police reported.
The incident happened at 7:45 p.m. Saturday, police said.
Puk and Mackay-Smith had also stolen items from a 19-year-old’s home after he invited them to spend the night, cops said.
Mackay-Smith was charged three days earlier for stealing from cars.Puk and Mackay-Smith were charged with second-degree robbery and fourth-degree grand larceny. They were arraigned Sunday at First District Court in Hempstead.
