Cops: 4 Charged for Robbing, Beating Woman

Three men and a woman face charges for robbing and beating a woman walking in Uniondale Monday morning, according to Nassau County Police.

Cops said the 19-year-old victim was walking on Midwood Drive near Maple Avenue at 1:55 a.m. when a car drove up beside her. Deveonte Gibson, 20, of West Hempstead, Deangelo Gibson, 21, also of West Hempstead, and Fahiym Rodriguez, 21, of Lakeview, got out of the car and approached the victim from behind, cops said. Deveonte Gibson then demanded her belongings, grabbed her bag, and punched her in the face, police said.

The victim tried to run away but Deveonte reportedly tripped her while punching and kicking her before taking her cell phone out of her pocket, cops said.

The three men jumped into a car, driven by Jennifer Anderson, 21, of Lakeview, and drove away, police said.

The victim made her way to a friend's house and called the police. Hempstead Police officers saw the defendants driving on Maple Avenue and stopped them before placing them under arrest, officers said.

The victim refused any medical attention though she reported pain in her left cheek and left elbow fro being punched, police said.

All four defendants were charged with two counts of second-degree robbery. Rodriguez was also charged for an open warrant for attempted robbery in January.
