Cops Arrest 10 for Selling Alcohol to Minor

West Hempstead convenience store employee among those busted Wednesday.

An employee of the OK Petroleum convenience store in West Hempstead was among 10 people arrested by Nassau County Police Wednesday for selling alcohol to a minor.

Working with Nassau County's Department of Consumer Affairs, Fourth Precinct officers conducted a "Project 21" initiative on Dec. 12, which resulted in the arrest of Mohammed M. Hossain, 44, of Jamaica, and nine other individuals.

Accorinding to police, Hossain, while working at the convenience store connected to the OK Petroleum gas station located at 151 Hempstead Ave., allegedly sold alcohol to an underage agent.

The following individuals were also arrested for selling alcohol to the minor.

  • Patel Hasmukh, 26, of Flushing, allegedly sold alcohol to a minor from Twins Deli, located at 1578 Hempstead Tpke. in Elmont.
  • Sadhu Singh, 55, of Valley Stream, allegedly sold alcohol to a minor at the BP gas station located at 385 W. Merrick Rd. in Valley Stream.
  • Belarminio Almonte, 37, of Brooklyn, allegedly sold alcohol to a minor from Los Pinos Deli, located at 1316 Hempstead Tpke. in Elmont.
  • Madat A. Gilani, 43, of Rego Park, allegedly sold alcohol to a minor from Shana Convenience Store, located at 120 E. Merrick Rd. in Valley Stream.
  • Malgorzata Flasinski, 46, of Franklin Square, allegedly sold alcohol to a minor from Elmont Wine and Liquor, located at 645 Hempstead Tpke. in Elmont.
  • Thomas B. Isaac, 33, of Elmont, allegedly sold alcohol to a minor from JKJ Wine & Liquor, located at 1553 Dutch Broadway in North Valley Stream.
  • Shamila Khadoo, 40, of Jamaica, allegedly sold alcohol to a minor from Valley Stream Discount Beverage Store, located at 855 W. Merrick Road in Valley Stream.
  • Vipulkumar R. Patel, 34, of Flushing, allegedly sold alcohol to a minor from Valley Deli & Grocery, located at 1019 Elmont Rd. in North Valley Stream.
  • Muhammed Kamran, 24, of Kew Gardens, allegedly sold alcohol to a minor from the Shell gas station/convenience store, located at 237-12 Linden Blvd. in Elmont.

All ten defendants are charged with Prohibited Sale of Alcoholic Beverage and Unlawful Dealing with a Child. They were released on appearance tickets and are due back in First District Court in Hempstead on Dec. 27, 2012.
