Cops: Delivery Man Attacked, Robbed in Lakeview

Nassau County cops are searching for three men who allegedly assaulted and robbed a pizza delivery worker.

A 41-year-old pizza delivery man was attacked and robbed just after midnight on Wednesday while working in Lakeview, cops say.

Nassau County's Fifth Squad is investigating the incident, which reportedly occurred around 12:25 a.m. on March 30.

According to detectives, the victim was delivering pizza to a home on Dekoven Street when a man described as black and wearing eyeglasses approached him, attempting to pay for the food order with with a $100 bill.

They say that when the victim told the man he did not have change, two more black men approached him, one holding a handgun, and demanded his cash. 

The police report that the victim was punched in the face and robbed. The three suspects fled on foot southbound on Dekoven Street with an unknown amount of cash and the pizza.

When police arrived at the scene, they found the victim was suffering pain to his face, but say he refused medical attention. The $100 bill was recovered on the premise and determined to be counterfeit. 

Detectives are searching for the three perpetrators who are merely described as black with large builds. They are asking anyone with information regarding this crime to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain anonymous.
