Nassau County Police are investigating a shooting that occurred early Friday in West Hempstead and left two people injured.
According to detectives, police officers responded to 119 Woodfield Road, Leisure Lounge, around 4:05 a.m. for the report of shots fired. Shortly after, police were notified that two male victims, ages 33 and 23, were at different hospitals with gun shot wounds to their legs. The injuries are considered non-life threatening. The investigation is ongoing.
The incident, which is being dubbed a "Reckless Endangerment," happened near the West Hempstead-Hempstead border, just steps away from where took place. Leisure Lounge shares a parking lot with Western Beef supermarket, and a strip of other stores.
