A Central Islip man was arrested early Sunday morning after allegedly stabbing another man inside of a West Hempstead nightclub.
According to Nassau County detectives, around 1:40 a.m., Fourth Precinct police officers responded to the Rumors Night Club, located at 514
Hempstead Turnpike, for a disturbance.
Upon police arrival, a 29-year-old male victim was seen outside the club with a laceration to the right side of his body. The victim told police he had been involved in an altercation with another man inside the club.
Police said the suspect, identified as 34-year-old Kareem G. Small, of Central Islip, pulled out a black knife and stabbed the victim inside the club.
Further investigation led police to stop Small as he was seen leaving in a 2001 Chevrolet. He was placed into custody without incident.
The victim was transported to a nearby hospital in a
Nassau County Police ambulance and was treated.
Small is charged with assault in the second degree and possession of a dangerous weapon in the fourth degree. He was arraigned on Sunday at First District Court in Hempstead.
Sunday's stabbing marks the second police-involved incident at Rumor's in less than one month.
An Amityville woman was arrested in May after she allegedly assaulted a woman with a camera tripod outside of the club.
Two Bronx men were also arrested after multiple assaults and a stabbing outside of the nightclub in June of 2012.
