Cops: Man Robbed at Knifepoint on Nassau Boulevard

Police looking for witnesses to robbery in West Hempstead Thursday.

Nassau County Police are searching for witnesses to a Nassau Boulevard robbery that happened Thursday night.

Cops said a 24-year-old man was walking on Nassau Boulevard near Henry Street at 8:30 p.m. when he was approached by a man on a bicycle who asked to use his cellphone. When the victim said he didn't have a phone, the subject pointed a knife at him and demanded money, police reported. The victim cooperated and handed over his wallet, containing cash, credit and debit cards, and a New York State driver's permit. The subject fled the scene and headed north on Nassau Boulevard.

Detectives described the subject as a male hispanic in his 20s, heavy build, with long, black, wavy hair and was wearing a red baseball cap at the time.
