Cops: Man Tried to Use Forged Scrips in West Hempstead

Man who used forged prescriptions at West Hempstead Pharmacy was finally caught Thursday.

A Baldwin man tried to get painkillers using forged prescriptions at West Hempstead Pharmacy and Rockville Centre Pharmacy, according to Nassau County Police.

Narcotics detectives said Hamid Babar, 48, of Baldwin, presented a prescription for Vicodin HP that was “written, presented, and filled without the permission of the owner” at the two pharmacies on two separate occasions. Babar used the fake prescription at Rockville Centre Pharmacy on July 27 and at West Hempstead Pharmacy on Nov. 4, cops said.

Babar was arrested at Nassau County Court in Mineola while he was there for a separate charge. He was charged with two counts of second-degree possession of a forged instrument and was arraigned Thursday at First District Court in Hempstead.
