A man and woman were rushed to the hospital after they apparently overdosed on heroin in Merrick, according to Nassau County Police.
First Precinct Officers and Nassau AMTs rushed to a Washington Street home and found two people "unconscious with shallow breathing," cops said.
The victims, a 26-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman, had apparently overdosed on heroin. AMTs immediately administered Narcan to both victims, who quickly became alert and responsive as the heroin was counteracted, cops said.
The incident happened at about 6:40 p.m. Tuesday.
The two were then brought to Nassau University Medical Center for treatment and evaluation, detectives said.
This is the third time in under a month that emergency crews counteracted heroin overdoses with Narcan.
