Cops: Tenant Held W. Hempstead Woman At Knifepoint

Nassau County Police arrest Nicholas S. Reilly for burglary after he allegedly threatened his landlord at her home.

With a knife held to her a throat, a West Hempstead woman was threatened by her disgruntled tenant Sunday afternoon, according to cops.

Nassau County Police say the perpetrator - who they identified as Nicholas S. Reilly, 23, of West Hempstead - made a visit to his landlord's home around noon on May 22.

According to detectives, the 47-year-old woman, who was in the process of having Reilly evicted, heard a knock on her back door and when she opened it, he allegedly grabbed her, forcing her into the kitchen.

Once there, cops say Reilly allegedly placed a knife to her throat and threatened to kill her. He then left the scene and no injuries were reported.

Later that day,  around 6 p.m., police say Reilly surrendered at the station for Nassau County's Fifth Precinct. He was charged with Burglary first degree and will be arraigned on Monday at First District Court in Hempstead.
