Cops: Three Rob Store, Shove Manager

Nassau County Police are searching for three men who reportedly robbed an East Garden City business and shoved a store manager.

According to Third Squad detectives, a 45-year-old female store manager was working confronted three men who were taking items out of their packaging.

One of the men, who was wearing a black mask, reached into her work apron and grabbed her cell phone before pushing her in the stomach, cops said. The three unknown men fled on foot out the back of the store toward Commercial Avenue, detectives reported.

The incident happened Sunday at 3:35 p.m. at Jembro, cops said.

Detectives are asking anyone who may know anything about this incident to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.

While this is disturbing and certainly newsworthy, East Garden City is not Garden City.

can you say "myoptic" ?
Galapagos Gary February 18, 2014 at 07:42 AM
Myopic

Mr.Tomao: my·o·pic adjective
Vincent February 18, 2014 at 07:52 AM
Ms. Doyle: Any description for the three unknown men? Bring back Geoffrey Walters.
Galapagos Gary February 18, 2014 at 08:00 AM
Anyway, Mr. Tomao, are you saying my comment is myopic or the placement of this article on Garden City Patch is myopic?
Rich February 18, 2014 at 08:05 AM
What lousy reporting. No description.... No name of the business... No nothing.

Perhaps a description is in order. Without that, it's like posting a blank sheet of paper in the Post Office's "Wanted" bulletin board. Are we psychic? Are we supposed to "guess" as to the perpetrators? Details, more details, and then maybe we would be edified and vigilant citizens, but this article leads to nowhere.

As our economy declines, crime will escalate. This will be the new norm. We should either prepare for this or become a sitting duck.
Rich February 19, 2014 at 08:18 AM
Political correctness (liberalism) is destroying society. It is a disgrace that the so called news media can't bring themselves to describe a perp for fear of offending someone. It's also a disgrace that society is allowing this to happen.
Vincent February 20, 2014 at 07:31 AM
Rich: It is also a shame that Ms. Doyle did not address my question. However, she never does. And neither do any of the new editors of the articles appearing on the Patch.

It could get worse, Vincent. I posted a critique several weeks ago on the inaccurate and half-baked reporting regarding the health department grades given to area restaurants, and then, oddly, I immediately stopped receiving emails from the GC Patch about other news. Before then, I was receiving news emails on a daily basis. I guess the "head in the sand" approach is the new business model over there.

The "head in the sand" approach is the "new norm" for the mainstream media. Thank goodness for alternative media venues.

Galapagos Gary: I have about 100 posts on my account but for the life of me I cant's figure out how to delete the 'old' ones no less the new ones I don'twant to follow any longer. Trying to figure this out using the help screen leads me in a constant circle and you can't contact them. Seems to be a one way street.
