Five Garden City residents were arrested Thursday morning after they allegedly threw eggs at cars on the Sagtikos and Southern State Parkways.
New York State Police said that shortly after midnight, cops received reports of a black Dodge Dart throwing objects at cars. State troopers from Brentwood were given the location of the car, which was pulled over on westbound side of the Northern State Parkway, just west of the Sagtikos Parkway.
The five occupants arrested for throwing eggs included Joseph Eigl, 17, Jonathan Taylor, 21, Steven Taylor, 18, Brian Taylor, 18, and Nicholas Dimmling, 17.
Additionally, police said they found approximately two grams of marijuana on Brian Taylor.
All five arrestees have been charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief. Brian Taylor has also been charged unlawful possession of marijuana.WH Teens Busted With Fireworks at Garden City Community Park
At approximately midnight on June 21, Garden City police officers responded to Garden City Community Park for reports of disorderly youths and fireworks.
An investigation at the scene resulted in the issuance of appearance tickets for trespass to eight males, ages 18-19, from West Hempstead and Franklin Square.
With the Fourth of July just days away, Mayor John Watras, in this week's Mayor's Message, reminds residents that the police department "will be on alert to interdict illegal fireworks use to prevent community disruption and often needless injury."
"I strongly urge parents, who are the ultimate and most effective preventers, to ban the use of fireworks," Mayor Watras said.
Driver Arrested for DWI, 7 Injured After Accident on Sunrise
A driver was arrested for DWI Monday after a single-car accident on Sunrise Highway, sending him and six passengers to the hospital with minor injuries, said Rockville Centre Police.
Daniel AJ Henry, 25, of Cambria Heights was arrested for driving while intoxicated after the accident.
The incident occurred on the eastbound side of Sunrise Highway, just east of Ocean Avenue, according to RVC Police Commissioner Charles Gennario.
On June 15 at 2:31 a.m., Michael E. Astor, 56, of Rockville Centre was arrested for driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene violation following an auto accident investigation by police personnel in the vicinity of Morgan Days South Municipal Parking Field in Rockville Centre.
On June 16 at 1:50 p.m., Roy Munson, 56, of Roosevelt, was arrested for disorderly conduct following an investigation by police personnel in the vicinity of 168 N. Village Ave. in Rockville Centre.
On June 17 at 4:54 p.m., Belinda A. Smith, 49, of Freeport, was arrested for petit larceny following an investigation by police personnel at Rite Aid, located at 168 N. Village Ave. in Rockville Centre.
On June 15 at 4:37 a.m., the owner from CJ’s Coffee Shop, located at 225 N. Long Beach Road in Rockville Centre, reported that sometime between 4:30 p.m. on June 14 and 4:37 a.m. on June 15, an unknown person(s) damaged a glass front door, entered the store, damaged a cash register and stole an undetermined amount of property.
On June 16 at 12:40 a.m., two female complainants from Bay Shore and Amityville reported that a male DJ at Vibe Lounge, located at 60 N. Park Ave. Rockville Centre, hit them, causing a contusion to the left eye of one complainant requiring no medical attention.
