On Aug. 1 at 3:40 p.m., Stephen Todd Lavenda, 49, of Roosevelt, was arrested for theft of services following an investigation by police personnel on Merrick Road in Rockville Centre.
On Aug. 8, a Garden City police officer arrested a 25-year-old female from Oyster Bay for theft of a blazer, valued at $40, from Sears.

On Aug. 8, a Garden City police officer apprehended a 29-year-old male from Hempstead for driving with a suspended registration and a suspended license.
On Aug. 9, a Garden City police officer stopped a vehicle for passing red traffic lights on Old Country Road at Cherry Valley Avenue and also at West Street. The driver, a 22-year-old male from Queens, was subsequently arrested for DWI (.09 percent blood alcohol content), possession of marijuana and passing two red traffic signals.
On Aug. 10, a Garden City Detectives arrested a 21-year-old male from Brooklyn for the theft of $2,190 from an account belonging to a Garden City business by using a fraudulent check.
On Aug. 11, a Garden City Detectives arrested a 22-year-old male from Freeport for leaving the scene of a property damage auto accident on Franklin Avenue on July 31. The subject was also charged with driving with a suspended license, unlicensed operation, suspended registration and uninsured operation.
