Crime Report: $7,500 Scanner Reported Stolen From Lynbrook Auto Dealership

The following is the weekly village crime report, compiled by the Lynbrook Police Department. All information is courtesy of the Lynbrook police.

Case Reports

  • Between the hours of 5 p.m. on Feb. 25 and 7 a.m. on Feb. 28, unknown persons spray painted graffiti at a building on Whitehall Street in Lynbrook. Police reported $500 in damage.
  • Between the hours of 3:45 p.m. on Feb. 25 and 8 a.m. on Feb. 26, a computer scanner — valued at $7,500 — was taken from the shop of Legacy Infiniti on Sunrise Highway in Lynbrook.
  • Between the hours of 10 p.m. on March 10 and 7:30 a.m. on March 11, a kayak — valued at $800 — was reported stolen from a driveway on Rolling Street in Lynbrook.

  • On March 8 at 12:30 a.m., Jason Alvarez, 17, of Valley Stream, N.Y., was arrested on Merrick Road in Lynbrook and charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana.
  • On March 11 at 5:25 a.m., Louis Giles, 53, of Jericho, N.Y. and Ingrid Lohwasser, 32, of Hempstead, N.Y., were arrested at the Lynbrook train station on open arrest warrants for Trespassing.
  • On March 11 at 8:10 p.m., Andrew Blount, 21, of Roosevelt, N.Y. was arrested on Peninsula Boulevard in Lynbrook and charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle.
  • On March 13 at 3:50 a.m., Jared Clinton, 19, of Rockville Centre, N.Y., was arrested on Merrick Road in Lynbrook and charged with DWI.
  • On March 14 at 12:34 p.m., Diane Jordan, 50, of Brentwood, N.Y. was arrested at Rite Aid on Sunrise Highway in Lynbrook and charged with Petit Larceny.
