Crime Report (Arrests): Grocer Arrested for Selling Beer to Minor

Arrests

May 17 — at 3:27 p.m., a 16-year-old from Springfield Gardens was
arrested and charged with two counts criminal possession of a controlled substance on Sunrise Highway.


May 18 — at 9 p.m., Mohammed A. K. Rashel, 26, of Valley Stream, was arrested and charged with unlawfully dealing with a minor and criminal contempt (warrant) at 484 Merrick Road. The defendant, while employed as a clerk at 99 Cents Power and Grocery, allegedly sold two cans of 24-ounce beer to a 16-year-old.

May 20 — at 4:25 a.m., Zaid M. Hamarsha, 23, of Valley Stream, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and failure to signal a turn on Sunrise Highway.

May 20 — at 8:49 p.m., Michael P. Guerriero, 23, of Lindenhurst, was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a weapon, inadequate muffler and tinted windows on Garden Drive.
