Crime Report: BP Gas Station Robbed

Lynbrook Police: BP Attendant Robbed at Gunpoint

The on Sunrise Highway in Lynbrook was robbed on March 19, according to Lynbrook police.

According to police, two male subjects entered the BP gas station at about 12:45 p.m. One subject displayed what appeared to be a silver revolver and forced an attendant to lie on the floor. The subjects made off with $500 and 14 packs of cigarettes, police said.

The first subject is described as a white male, 20-30 years of age, 5'10" with a medium build, a light mustache, and wearing a purple hat, dark jacket and sweatpants. The second subject is described as a black male, 20-30 years of age, with a heavyset build, wearing a white shirt and white pants.

The robbery is currently under investigation.

Arrests

  • On March 17 at 2:45 a.m., Howard Webb, 29, of the Bronx, N.Y., was arrested on Sunrise Highway in Lynbrook and charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle.
  • On March 17 at 2:52 p.m., Daniel Mendez, 30, of Harrisonburgh, Va., was arrested on Sunrise Highway in Lynbrook and charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle.
  • On March 18 at 12:40 a.m., a minor from East Rockaway, N.Y., was arrested on the bike path at Greis Park in Lynbrook and charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana.
